Walmart have added email and account verification.

Unfortunately they let you verify the new account by emailing you a 6 digit code. To the email address you’re trying to verify.

If you’ve set a pin (for Walmart pharmacy), they let you reset the pin by sending a verification code to the email address.

Poor Raymond. He put in my email address and now I know where he lives and what his phone number is. If he ordered any medication, I’d see that too.

There’s no way to contact Walmart about this that I could find, so I did the only responsible thing and deleted the account.

It may inconvenience Raymond, but at least it’s plugged the leak. This time.

Wow. Insanity. Even when they try to fix it, it’s not really fixed. Thanks for the update!

Poor Raymond.

Raymond signed up for a Walmart Pharmacy account. I guess he’s American? But he got his email address wrong: he used mine instead.

So I logged in. Entered my email address. But I don’t know Raymond’s password, lucky for Raymond!

What’s this? Verify by text message or email? Ok, I choose email.

And I’m in!

There’s Raymond’s address, phone number, date of birth, oh and look: all the medication he’s ordered and prescription refills!

Ah, now it’s asking me for his pin.

I don’t know his pin. Lucky for Raymond!

But I can reset his pin! And yes, yes, email me a code so I can prove I’m Raymond.

And now his pin is 1-1-1-1.

Ok, I should probably let Walmart know. Hmmm… how do I do that? I can’t?

I don’t want to phone Raymond or write him a letter. Don’t want to send a text. He was born in 1944 and might be a bit worried to get an unsolicited text with a load of technical blather at this time of night. (At least, it’s night time here - he’s 8 hours ahead.)

What should I do? Ah! There’s an option to delete the account.

I choose that.

Lucky for Raymond.

I can never get the Gmail "+" to work.

Really? Hmmm.... I've used it a lot, especially when testing. I've used it with Microsoft/Live/Outlook accounts also.
